Shelby's Shenanigans

So this morning amidst the mad dash to get showered, dressed for work, get the baby changed and fed and get out of the house while leaving it in perfect condition in case someone would come to see it while I'm gone, I ran into an overwhleming obstacle named Shelby.

Shelby the dog is going through a bit of a rough patch. She has strangers coming through her house when we're not home, much of the furniture in the house has been rearranged and since Charlie was born she's been on an involuntary diet (meaning sometimes, we forget to feed her - or at least she doesn't get the good wet food - only the dry stuff). This morning, she refused to go to the bathroom. And living in the metropolitan area that I do, everyone must pick up after their dog. So I walked her and walked her to the end of the neighborhood. Finally, she decided to do her business. At that moment, when I was finally breathing a sigh of relief, I looked down to see that the poop bag holder in her leash had run out of bags. SO I had to take her all the way back to the house, get more poop bags and then go back outside and seek out the poop in order to take care of it. Meanwhile, the baby is in his crib getting more and more upset and I am hoping none of my neighbors see me in my pre-showered glory.

So Shelby, here's to you. In five minutes, you managed to get me out of the house for more of a morning walk than I've had in months. In 90 degree heat. In flip flops. With my hair a mess. Ducking behind bushes to avoid being seen by my perfectly coiffed neighbors on their way to work. Thanks Shelby.

It was probably Rob's fault that the poop bag dispenser was empty too...

No way! I always refill the poop bag holder.
