Grocery Stories

Today I decided to try out a "new" grocery store. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but this was no ordinary new store. The "new" store I tried is unlike anything I've ever been to - they have an Olive bar, a Cheese Counter to die for and a prepared foods section with lines out the door of working people who come there for lunch because it is just that good.

I decided that I needed to try shopping there. My current grocery store (from here on referred to as "old faithful") is completely adequate. I know where to find everything, the employees are very nice and the prices are good. But I couldn't help finding out if the lettuce was greener on the other side of town.

So I trekked out to the new store, found a parking space (they have a parking garage with elevators for you and your grocery cart) and got a cart and headed inside. The store was nice, but a little overwhelming. And after spending about an hour trying to find everything on my list, there were still items I couldn't find - which meant I had to take a trip to "old faithful" later in the day.

But the deciding factor between the two stores really came down to this: While I was at the "new" store, I had no less than three little old ladies come up to me, tell me how precious my baby was and ask me how old he was. When I said three months, each time the little old lady would say "well you must cherish every moment of this because they grow up so quickly." Nice enough.

At "old faihful", I had a lady who was shopping with her teenage daughter come up to me and tell me how precious my baby was and asked how old he was. When I said three months, she replied, "Three months! You look fabulous!".

That's it. I'm sticking with old faithful.

Sticking with Old Faithful is a good approach when it comes to husbands too.
