My husband has a blog. So do his friends. I read them everyday and usually come away with a smile - so I've decided to start my own.
Not sure what I'll be posting about - I guess whatever comes to mind.
For today, I am most upset with my health insurance provider. The basic message I've gotten from today's antics on the phone with them has been - never get sick. Unless you want months of back and forth over who's responsible for what charges, don't ever go to the hospital if you can help it. It just starts a mountain of paperwork that you're not likely to emerge from for months. All I did was have a baby and here I am three months later still trying to straighten out the mess created by procedures being mis-coded and who is and is not a "preferred provider". Getting sick is a very messy business.

I know the feeling. We had a baby 3 1/2 YEARS ago, and we are STILL fighting with the ins. company about paying the bill for the pediatrician who saw him in the hospital. Apparently, they weren't his "primary care physician" mostly because he was 0 days old and hadn't chosen one yet. ugh...
so, having a baby is a sickness?
I know - I thought about that when I wrote it - I guess you could classify having a baby as a "health problem". How's that? :)
A couple of guys here at work made it very clear the other day that having 5 kids is a "sickness" :)
Having 5 kids (or more) may deserve a higher classification, such as "disease."
much better...
yes, its a disease.
yep, insurance companies suck. since i have experience as both the claim rep. and the claimant i would have to agree that the whole business is screwy.
so anyways, it's great to see you here!
