Saturday in the City

This Saturday, we spent the morning downtown. We attended the Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Duck Race. This is a race of little yellow rubber ducks down the James River, which runs through the center of Richmond. It also happens to take place on an island in the river that is right in front of my WH's building.

The event is a fundraiser for the organization and had all kinds of fun things for kids to do and it was all free! There were many inflatable bouncy houses and slides...

And lots of games to play...

And even a huge inflatable duck!

We couldn't stay for the actual race (it was during naptime, which we don't readily give up around here), but after some fun outside, we were able to go inside to Daddy's Work (as OBB refers to it) for an Open House of the new museum there. Here is everyone in front of Daddy's office building...

Inside, on the first floor of the building is the new museum. It's called The Fed Experience.

One of the neatest things they have on display is an actual Gold Bar on loan from the US Treasury. It is worth $484,000 and weighs 28 lbs.

Whenever OBB asks us what Daddy does at work, we always say "He makes money". So here he is with the "money".

All in all a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
