And We Have Another Winner!

This morning, we went to a special breakfast at OBB's school to celebrate him winning the Core Values Award again!

I know you're probably thinking...how can he get it again? Do they not have enough children at that school? Well apparently, each resource teacher (PE, Art, Library, Foreign Language) gets to pick one student from the school each month as well to receive the award. For the month of April, the Librarian chose OBB.

If you're paying close attention, you'll notice that OBB is missing his two bottom teeth.  They were removed this week by our friendly dentist because the adult tooth had completely come in behind them and was too far back in his mouth (and the baby teeth weren't showing any signs of budging).  Once removed, it was obvious we'd made the right call.  The root on one of his teeth was longer than the tooth itself - that thing would never have come out on its own.  OBB was a champ about the whole thing (with the help of lots of laughing gas) and much to his delight, the tooth fairy pays a high premium for teeth that are pulled.

But I digress - back to the awards!

The funniest/saddest part of the whole morning was watching Baby Girl. She sat on my lap and diligently clapped for each child as they were called up and presented their award. And then when it was over, she cried quietly to herself because her name was never called. It was like her own Oscar-moment gone terrbily wrong.

We are very proud that our OBB not only wins on the racetrack, but also wins at school!
