As one chapter closes, another begins...

Today was OBB's last day of preschool...ever. Part of me is so sad and yet another part of me realizes this is the process of growing up.

This was the year I wanted to have - both kids in the same preschool - loving teachers, happy kids. Enjoying two mornings a week to myself.

I always looked forward to walking through the parking lot to the car after picking them both up at lunchtime, a child's hand in each of mine, listening to OBB recount his day to me...this was my definition of bliss.

OBB has gone to school there for four years. Many of the teachers and staff know him. And he's confident there - each school day, he walks in with a sense of purpose. He knows just what to do. And I feel like he's safe there.

In the fall, we dive into the unknown. A new school, new teachers, riding the bus (gulp!), him being gone all day, everyday. It is hard for me to think about it.

After school today, Daddy met us and we all went for a picnic in a local park and then the kids played.

It was the end of the school year but also the kickoff to summer - a summer that will be filled with playdates and visits to Grandma's pool, road trips and summer camps, and even swim lessons for OBB. Ready or not, here we go!
