So in my mommy group that I am now a part of, they had a special Mother's Day meeting. It was really sweet, actually. They had eveyone take sticky notes and write something nice about each member of the group - then you got a little booklet of all the nice things people said about you. They also did a Secret Mom game for a few weeks leading up to the meeting where another Mom gave you gifts and clues and then she was revealed to you at that meeting. It was fun. People were ducking behind bushes to sneak gifts onto their Secret Mom's porch, making their husbands deliver the gifts for them, having other moms deliver the gifts...it lasted about two weeks.
So when my WH (Wonderful Husband) came home the other night, he was looking through the gifts I had received (one was a fabulous black and white toile bag - LOVE toile!) and he stumbled across my little booklet of nice things people had said about me. So he's leafing through it, reading them aloud...and they were things like "great sense of humor", "great mom" or "great hair".
Then he got to one and laughed out loud. He said with a you must be kidding me tone..."GENTLE SPIRIT?!?!? Well maybe the gentle spirit of a BULLDOZER!"
Now I'll agree that I don't exactly think of myself as gentle...but obviously someone else out there does (or perhaps they got me confused with the other Susan who also recently joined the group). Either way, it was nice for me to have these nice little things that people said about me swirling in my head...but now they have been adequately tempered with a good dose of reality from WH.

I like bulldozers. Everyone knows that.
Don't feel bad Susan. I could easily be compared to some kind of construction vehicle too.

Thanks for your support, Chrissy!
Chrissy, what kind of construction vehicle would people compare you too?? Hmm I will have to think about that. I bet L-Dub will come up with a good one.
maybe that tonka truck collection that your WH has going has more meaning than you think??
