Our Trip to Maine, Part 1

We have just returned from our summer trip to Maine. It was wonderful and filled with lots of adventures! Here are some pictures from our stay.

We left at 5 a.m. and drove the 12 hours to Maine in one day. Soon after we arrived, we went to Johnson's for dinner. This is a little restaurant we like to go to that is about 1/10 of a mile from Nana's house. I spied Lobster Pie on the menu and had to try it out! It is like chicken pot pie, except it was just huge chunks of lobster and butter in the bottom of a bowl with a baked crab stuffing on top - it was delicious! After dinner, we spent some time exploring Nana's backyard.

OBB discovered the blackberries growing there and became quite the blackberry picker!

Then he quickly got to work baking cupcakes (in ice cream cones!) with Nana. As you might of guessed, there were a lot of sprinkles involved...

For our first full day, we headed to Boston. It was a perfectly beautiful day there. We went to the New England Aquarium and walked around to enjoy to weather.

Then we had a wonderful lunch at Quincy Market. We sat outside, slurped our clam chowder and enjoyed the sunshine with Fanueil Hall overlooking us.
