I'm talking to a girl in my class during snack (I have 8 year olds who are entering 3rd grade). The conversation goes like this...
Girl: What are we doing next? Because I need to know when we're leaving today.
Me: Why is that?
Girl: Because I'm sleeping over at Grace's house tonight because my mom isn't at home.
Me: Where is she?
Girl: In South Carolina.
Me: Is she on vacation?
Girl: No, she's just having her moment. Every once in a while, she needs to have her moment.
