The Tale of the Tie-Dyed Shirt

For our last meeting of the year, my MOPS group made tie-dyed shirts for our kids. I tried to find a simple white t-shirt for OBB, but quickly came to realize that finding one plain white t-shirt for a 4-year-old is almost impossible. So when I came upon a white Ralph Lauren shirt in the store, I grabbed it. One more check off my to do list, one less thing to worry about.

Little did I know the poking that I was in for when I showed up to the meeting with this shirt. "Who tie dyes a Ralph Lauren shirt?" I heard over and over. My friends thought I was ridiculous.

When I came home, OBB wanted to wear the shirt immediately. I told him he had to wait until "summer" to wear it. So everyday when we would talk about how many days of school were left, OBB would say, "And then it will be summer! And then I can wear my new shirt!" So finally, as school ended on Friday, I caved this weekend and let OBB wear the shirt. Here he is in my irony-ridden creation.
