Rough Week

OBB has had a rough time of it the past few days. Or I guess I should say his face has.

On Thursday, he was happily chasing EDD through our dining room when he ran into the corner of our server. He hit his left eye and it bled a little, but not enough to get really concerned. It got a little puffy and is now in the black eye/purplish-red phase.

Fast forward to this afternoon. My WH was washing down the outside front entryway of our house - an admirable task - when OBB, Baby Girl and I returned from a short walk to the end of the street. We were heading inside and I was actually already inside when I turned around just in time to watch OBB slip on wet rocks and go down. His head - rather his face - hit our brick steps and I just wanted to die. His father scooped him up and assessed the damage. This time, it was the other eye and it was bleeding. In a matter of seconds, it swelled up so big I was almost convinced he had a pebble in his eye.

So off we went to the pediatric ER to get it looked at. There's no permanent damage - he can still see and nothing is broken. It's just going to look really bad for a few days.

For those of you eager to see what this looks like, here you go. This was this evening at dinner. As you can see, his nose got in on the action too. There's no telling what he'll look like in the morning.
