Two Weeks and New Discoveries

Well OBG is two weeks old today and over the past 14 days, I've made several discoveries now that I'm a mother of two.

1. I've discovered how easy I had it when OBB was a baby (even though it didn't feel easy). Managing a week old baby is lots easier that managing a two year old, and my WH has been on the front lines of that battle for two weeks, God bless him. I feel like I got the better end of this deal because all I've been doing is taking care of a newborn and recovering from surgery.

2. I've discovered that you just need to say thank you and let people do things for you. We've had meals brought in for two straight weeks and they're not done coming yet! While we almost feel guilty, it is a huge help as I try to figure out a nursing/making dinner scenario that will work for me when the baby wants to eat every two hours.

3. Earlier this week, I discovered an unidentifiable sticky substance in my hair. I literally had chunks of hair stuck together. Was it jelly? Was it too much hair gel? Who knows. All I know is that I haven't had that experience since I was like 5.

4. I've discovered that even though I didn't think I could (and didn't have to with OBB because he was bottle-fed), I can wake up every three hours at night and still function the next day. I may not be a shining example of personality and pleasantness, but I can function.

5. I've discovered that you allow yourself to relax and enjoy life a little more with the second one because in many respects, you've been down this road before and you have a better idea of what you really need to freak out about and what you don't.

It is truly unbelievable that you've been able to maintain these posts, complete with photos. Wow, I'm impressed. I still haven't figured out how to handle a single 4-month-old yet!

You look amazing, as usual -- especially in the immediately-after-delivery family pic!!!

Congratulations again, she's beautiful!!! And Charlie gets even more handsome with every picture I see, if that's possible. :)
