Bank On It

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I had my in-laws in town for eight days and then went to DC for two days and I'm just getting back to catching up on life.

Last night, my WH and I celebrated 5 years of wedded bliss by getting a babysitter and heading out to dinner. While sitting in the restaurant, we realized that this was, in fact, the first time we'd been out to a nice dinner by ourselves since before OBB was born (that's over 2 years for those of you keeping track at home).

And to say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement. We went to a restaurant in downtown Richmond called Bank. You can check it out at www.bankandvault.com. It was a wonderful dining experience. We had mussels with a white wine sauce that was so good that you just want to dump the whole bread basket in the juices and let the bread soak them all up before devouring it piece by piece. We had fried calamari that was so tender you wouldn't believe it had anything to do with a squid. Then for entrees I had this delicious tenderloin and my WH had shrimp and grits which were so buttery and cheesy and delectable that just one bite left your stomach in such a happy state, you felt as if the meal could end then and all would be ok. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a great glass or two of wine, but alas, in my delicate state, it was not to be. Pellegrino with lime had to suffice.

We truly enjoyed our evening and I would highly recommend that anyone visiting the Richmond area make it a point to go to Bank.
