Adventures with Flat Stanley

A couple weeks ago, Burnsy's son sent us Flat Stanley for a visit. In an attempt to be good caretakers of this pint-sized flat man, we took Flat Stanley with us on a brief trip to DC. While in our nation's capital, my WH attended a meeting and OBB and I went to catch up with some old friends and see some sights. The Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom so that was a nice added extra. Here are some pictures of OBB and Flat Stanley (FS) enjoying all the city has to offer...

Here are OBB and FS ready to take on Capitol Hill...

OBB meets with his favorite Member of Congress (and my former boss), U.S. Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina.

After hanging out on the Hill, OBB and FS went to the Department of Labor to discuss some important issues with high-ranking officials...

Such as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs (a.k.a. OBB's uncle)...

After their meetings, OBB and FS decided to visit one of the Smithsonian museums to get up close and personal with a dinosaur (and some lovely international tourists). Here they are at the National Museum of Natural History.

OBB and FS enjoyed their whirlwind tour of DC so much that OBB fell asleep after the museum and slept while my WH and I enjoyed a nice early dinner together at Union Station.
