A great man, a sick boy and some fine tasting pork

Today we celebrate the birth of a great man. He is a great father, a wonderful husband, a good friend, a skilled painter, a master auto mechanic, a witty writer, a Biblical scholar, a fabulous cook, an exemplary engineer, a keen political mind, a pro ATV rider, and a creative genius. That's right, I'm speaking of my husband. The best giver of back rubs and good advice around. The person I turn to for solace, laughter, insight, understanding and an all around good time.

In honor of his birthday, we dined at a fine eating establishment tonight called The Smokey Pig - because my man likes him some barbeque. I'm sure you've already developed a mental picture in your mind of what this place must look like, but just in case you haven't yet, see below...

I must say it was delicious. Everything they brought us to eat was wonderful. And the service was perfect. So if you're ever in Ashland, VA (I promise, it's worth the drive) make a point to stop there and enjoy the rustic, pig-filled dining room for yourself.

In other news, OBB is a sick little bear. Today I found him laying down on the couch watching Sesame Street out of the corner of his eye - that's how miserable he was. So I decided he could use some milk and M&Ms. I'm not a proponent of giving kids chocolate. Heck, I don't even give OBB juice. But his sad little face definitely perked up when he saw the little colored morsels of chocolate goodness coming his way.

Here he is on the couch...

And after some much needed chocolate therapy...

How's your little guy doing? My oldest ended up in the ER for dehydration from the flu and burst ear drum. I've never seen this kid that sick!!

oh sad little boy! I'm glad he was able to get a little immediate gratification chocolate-style. Hope he's starting to feel better.

Thanks. He's actually gotten worse recently - the coughing and weezing got pretty bad - so we're now the proud owners of a nebulizer that we're using every four hours. Now, he's not acting sick, he just hasn't slept the past two nights from couging. Oh -and neither have we. It's like a reminder of what staying up all night with a newborn is like.

Oh no!! Both my boys have nebs as well. I'm praying for all of you, to heal and get some sleep.

A BIG happy Birthday to Rob and wishing him all of God’s richest blessings.

I do hope Charlie is feeling better. I just love glimpsing at his photos and peeking into want is going on in VA.

I haven’t talked to Mary in a while. I’ll call her tomorrow/this weekend. You know… big weekend here - (SC Primary).
