So I haven't posted in a really long time. I've turned into one of those people I don't like who start blogs and then don't post anything for a month. I think I have a pretty good excuse but I would just like to make a formal apology for not being around.
Over the past month, we have moved out of our house and moved in with some very gracious friends, where my husband, my baby and my dog all live in the same room. I do NOT recommend this. Between all the snoring (mostly coming from the dog) and babbling (the baby now starts this every morning at 6:30 - some days at 5 a.m.!) it's pretty difficult to get a good night's sleep.
I also traveled to see my mom in SC for two weeks, which was nice except for the 8 hour car ride each way.
All of this means that I haven't had a lot of access to a computer so I have fallen behind in my online comunication. In my previous job, going several weeks without a computer would have been unthinkable - but it's been just fine. It's pretty liberating.
My newest discovery and pleasant experience has been the entrance of Sesame Street into my life - again. Of course I watched this show as a child, but now that my child is old enough to watch it, it is a wonderful thing. He loves Elmo and pretty much all of the other fuzzy characters - but Semsame Street has really changed since we were kids. There are much more ornate sets and all kinds of little jokes for the parents thrown in for fun. For example, today they showed the Count watching TV and he came across a show called "24" where he counted to 24 while a Jack Bauer type puppet guy held onto a cliff for 24 seconds....it was pretty funny.
I guess the only dangerous thing about it is that I have gotten the "Elmo's World" song stuck in my head more than once and caught myself humming it while driving the car.

thank goodness you are back... i mean, while i am glad it was liberating for you and all, i still need some liberation myself from the world of federal government once or twice a day... so if you and my sisters leave me hanging for a month, well you know... i might become as crazy as some of the folks in Elmo's World.
Hilarious post though :)
So good to have you back! Watch out for those kids songs...Wiggles and Barney are very annoying and get very stuck in your brain!
Hope to see you guys soon!
Love to all!
Welcome back! I don't let my kids watch Sesame street because somebody convinced me a long time ago that it was written and produced by communists. I prefer shows like the Simpsons where the offensiveness is overt rather than subversive.
