So how was your morning?

I used to think that one of the worst things that could happen to mess up your morning is when you set your radio clock alarm the night before and mistakenly push the volume all the way to its highest setting so that when your alarm goes off, the music from the radio practically blows you out of bed until you scramble with your arms flying around to shut it off. I now have an even worse scenario to share…

This morning, my goal was simple. Get a shower before the baby wakes up. Sounds easy enough, right? I woke up at 6:45 (even before my alarm went off) took the dog for a walk, fed her and checked on my sleeping baby before hopping in the shower. I was enjoying my nice hot shower in silence. However, as soon as I put the conditioner in my hair, this booming voice started coming from my bedroom, literally shaking the whole house. It was my stupid radio alarm going off with the volume as high as it would go. It not only sent my emotionally fragile dog into a tizzy, it threatened to wake up my sleeping baby, while I was soaking wet, in the shower, with conditioner that wasn’t ready to be washed out yet. So there I was running out of the shower, dripping all over the place to shut off the radio, calm down the dog and check on the baby who was startled but not in a full-fledged cry-a-thon yet.

I guess my life wasn’t exciting enough and I needed a little extra thrill to add to my morning.

Oh, when you said booming voice, I thought maybe Rob was yelling at Warren in his sleep again, but then I quickly remembered that Rob is in Richmond.

For the record, I am not allowed to touch the alarm clock. It is the one electronic device in our home that is completely under her control.
