The Latest

So what's the latest with us?  Well in the past two weeks, both children have had surgery to remove their ear tubes, we've stayed busy with school and church, and we've spent some fun time with friends.  Throw in a foot injury and racing preparations and we've managed to keep moving fast!

Last Thursday, after OBB's surgery, I was moving some potted plants on the deck and stepped down our steps the wrong way, rolling my ankle in the process.  This called for a trip to the ER to determine if it was broken, and a trip later to an orthopedic doctor to determine that I'd torn some ligaments.  I have a lovely big gray boot that I'll be sporting for the next two weeks.  And because this is my blog and I can post whatever I want, I feel a foot picture is in order just to give you an idea...

Yeah - in case you're wondering - it hurts.

This past Friday night, we went out with my friend Jayda and her husband to a restaurant in Richmond that we hadn't tried before.  It's called Edo's Squid and is known for its excellent Italian Seafood.  I had the flounder.  My husband thought it was so amusing when it arrived, that he took a picture.  It really was quite tasty.

On Saturday, my WH helped some friends with their cars (including diagnosing the source of an oil leak and fixing brakes) and then set about getting the weight of OBB's kart just right.  This was an interesting process requiring two men, a 5 year old and the contraption below.  The goal is to be as close as possible to 150 lbs. without going over.

Finally, this was my two on our way to church today, happily enjoy a fresh Spring morning.
