Maine: My Favorite Things - Part 1

When we first arrived in Maine, we were immediately drawn to Nana's backyard. So beautiful and lush, the grass was like green velvet. It was a wonderful place to play after a long car ride.


















The kids ran and we played frisbee and just enjoyed the cool summer air.





































One of the places we went to this year that was a first for us was Stonewall Kitchen.

















Stonewall Kitchen is a company that was started by two guys making jams and jellies in their garage in Maine. It is now a specialty foods company, making everything from jam and dips to pasta and crackers and soups. Inside the store, they have a Jelly and Jam Tasting bar where you can sample any of them on a cracker. People stand there trying different jams for hours. I tried their Mimosa Jam - it had real champagne in it!














Beautiful gardens outside the barns adorn the walkways into the building.
















They have a delightful cafe inside that serves everything from sandwiches to Lobster Mac and Cheese. We ate there twice during our trip. The grilled cheese sandwiches my kids had were the best I've ever tasted!
