My friend Ryan is an amazing cook/baker. I first met her at church in my Sunday School class, but before we met, we already had lots in common. We both worked on the Hill at the same time. She went to the same college and graduate school as my WH. She and her husband both decided to escape the craziness of DC and come south a couple years ago. And she lives around the corner from me.
She is fantastic in the kitchen. She had us over for dinner recently and it was like eating in a 5 star restaurant. Oh, and did I mention she catered Baby Girl's 2nd Birthday Party? She makes THE most wonderful red velvet cake, and I knew it had to be part of Baby Girl's big day. But she not only did the cake. She made a full brunch with five different dishes for my guests to enjoy. It was delicious.
Ryan has started her own blog. It's called Ryan Bakes and you can find it here. I just tried the Hot Bean and Cheese Dip this afternoon as a kind of Super Bowl appetizer and it is soooo good.

This girl knows what she's talking about when it comes to food. And frankly, I just like looking at her pictures. So if you're searching for something fun to whip up in the kitchen, be sure to check out my friend Ryan's blog when you have a chance.
