Yesterday, OBB and I joined a local moms groups for a day in the park, followed by lunch at a very cute country restaurant. The park was fairly new, covered in mulch and included lots of different types of playground equipment for OBB to explore. I tried putting him on the ground to crawl, but after pulling three or four pieces of mulch out of his mouth, I decided this wasn't a good idea. So he mostly just rode the toys I placed him on, but I think he had a good time.
The best part was that after some baby food and a bottle at the restaurant while we were waiting for our food, OBB decided to take a nap during the rest of lunch in his stroller, allowing me to enjoy my homestyle fried chicken, cole slaw and potato salad in relative peace....except for the 10 other mothers and their 15 other kids nearby - but it was peaceful for me. Oh, the little things I have come to appreciate - like a meal with a sleeping baby.
