Potty Training Report from the Trenches: Day 7

After seven onerous days of being stationed (read trapped) in my house to focus on potty training Baby Girl, and coming very close to giving up, we finally had a successful day. Today, Baby Girl went all day and stayed DRY! Not one accident - all day. Amazing! Stupendous! A divine intervention! In the words of Luigi from Cars, "I must scream it to the world, my excitement from the top of someplace very high!"

Yesterday did not begin well. It was Monday and for whatever reason, by 9 a.m., I had both children crying and OBB on his second trip upstairs to his room. We were not off to a good start. Baby Girl had several accidents throughout the morning, and I was on the verge of giving up. Thank goodness I emailed my friend Jayda, who talked me in off the ledge.

I decided to keep going and keep trying, and thankfully, Baby Girl rose to the occasion. After she woke up from her nap, she stayed dry the rest of the day. Then this morning, I woke her up at 7 a.m., placed her on the potty and she went. And she went many more times throughout the day for both me and my mom while she was watching her, each time receiving the Pez dispenser of her choice filled with candy. We've got everybody from Lightning McQueen and Mater to Mike Wazowksi to Cinderella and Rapunzul and when she goes, she can choose whichever one she wants.

I really feel like we've turned the corner, and she's getting it. And I'm so glad I stuck with it.
