A conversation I had today with OBB, following EDD's annual visit to the vet, during which OBB watched intently as EDD was poked, prodded and otherwise violated, not to mention receiving a couple shots.
OBB: Felby is scared of the doctor. (Felby is what OBB calls Shelby)
Mom: Yes she was, but she was a good girl, don't you think?
OBB: Yes. Felby get a lollipop?
Mom: Nooo.
OBB: But why?
Mom: Because doggies get bones. We can get her a bone when we get home.
OBB: I want a bone.
Mom: Nooo. Only doggies get bones. People don't eat bones.
OBB: But why?
Mom: Because bones taste yucky.
OBB: But why?
I think the Bush Administration missed a critical opportunity when they opted for waterboarding as a means of interrogation. They should have just put the terrorists in a car with a 3 year old for a couple hours.

Why not just let him eat a dog bone? Then he'll understand.
Sometimes kids just really want to learn stuff the hard way instead of listening to their parents.
wise words. sometimes they don't even want to, but as parents you have to make them.
