Home Improvement

For the past few weeks, my WH has been dutifully toiling in our living room/office. First, he painted it. Then in order to take advantage of the fact that all the furniture was moved out of the room, he started installing hardwood floors. Here is a mini pictorial of his efforts.

First, the before picture with all the furniture so you can see what the room looked like originally...

Then, here it is with the furniture out and the work on the paint job underway...

After he finished painting it, he pulled up the carpet, laid a new plywood sub-floor, put down roofing felt and started the first couple rows of hardwood...

And then today he finished putting in the hardwood. The room isn't back together yet, but we're waiting on a carpet first. I'll post pictures when it's complete.

ooooooh! aaaaah! They look amazing! Does your husband think its strange that you put the hardwoods down only to cover them up with an area rug again? Floyd can't stand covering up pretty hardwoods with rugs.

Yes. He hates that. But you have to protect them, you know?

the prefinished hardwood floors will stand up to a lot of abuse compared to "post" ? finished. The finish is a lot harder.
